1050 is a high-purity aluminum alloy engineered for applications requiring superior electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and formability where high strength is not a primary requirement. This alloy, composed of a minimum of 99.5% aluminum, is available in multiple tempers including O, H12, H14, H16, H18, H22, H24, H26, H28, and H112, and can be supplied as sheet, plate, wire, bar, or custom shapes. With a low density of approximately 2.7 g/cm³ and a typical tensile strength ranging from 60 to 135 MPa depending on temper, it is weldable with appropriate filler metals and meets ASTM B211, BS 5L36, and AMS-QQ-A-225/1 standards. This alloy is commonly used in electrical conductors, busbars, heat sinks, electronic shielding, and aerospace applications.
